The policy underscores ECZ’s commitment to ensuring that Zambia’s electoral processes reflect the diversity of its population and provide equal opportunities for participation by all citizens, regardless of gender, age, or physical ability. The launch of the GESI Policy comes at a critical moment in Zambia’s democratic journey, particularly as the country prepares to implement provisions of the amended Constitution. These constitutional changes introduce reserved seats for women, youth, and persons with disabilities in both the National Assembly and local councils.
